23.10.24 - Information regarding export to Norway Digitoll – Norwegian Customs concept for an automized border crossing The changes To act in compliance with legislation, in a world with increased goods flow and a higher demand of short lead times, the Norwegian Customs are introducing new solutions. To maintain a focus on security, efficient goods flow, EU-regulations and statistical accuracy, digital solutions have been introduced to facilitate an automated border crossing into and out of Norway. As part of the timeline, the development of solutions for goods entering Norway (Norwegian imports) are being developed before Norwegian exports. The major change is that we are moving from being able to customs clear goods within 10 days of entering Norway, to a main rule where goods must be declared before arriving at the Norwegian border. All required data must be submitted in due time to enable, freight carrier to cross border without undue waiting time and stop. Please refer to the updated information provided by Norwegian Customs here. How will this impact your business? Ensuring the timely handover of correct data is crucial for everyone involved in the process, from collection to the delivery point of goods. Exporters must ensure documentation is aligned with actual shipped goods and booking details. List of mandatory data – please note list is not complete for all goods: • Buyer/seller • Terms • Customs procedure • Goods description (beneficial with HS-codes) • Goods country of origin • Number of collies and weight By complying with a full data and document set, we can expect a more efficient goods flow, as the border will not represent a stop. This approach ensures that goods are delivered, ready for immediate use, without the need for clearance within the 10-day timeframe. Non-compliance will leave goods/transport unable to cross the border. Delays and added cost can be an expected consequence. DSV reserves the right to forward costs to other party when applicable.
