DSV ROAD COVID-19 UPDATE – JUNE 18, 2020 Updated information June 18, 2020 Dear Customer, We continue to remain fully focused on keeping deliveries going, despite the challenging situation we are in. DSV strive to maintain the best possible operational plan as possible, and we are well prepared to continue to secure and serve all our customers. We still have some extra costs associated with production, although these are fortunately reduced in all our product areas. We have additional costs regarding challenges to staffing and operation of our terminals, our scheduled traffic and distribution. • related to illness and quarantine. For example, we can not take in new employees at the terminal for fear spread of infection. • production is more time consuming and we must compensate with more overtime. • extraordinary washing and cleaning of equipment. • precautions in relation to infection control at each collection and delivery at sender and recipient. • more waiting time, in that there are still restrictions at senders and recipients. We are also experiencing a significant imbalance in our continental traffic as a result of COVID -19. Many of the countries have not fully opened for the receipt of goods, which means that import volumes are larger than exports. The consequence of this is a large surplus of material that is in Norway, in addition to a lot of material being driven with reduced degree of filling or empty out. This means that it becomes more expensive to buy capacity from our subcontractors. The additional costs we have associated with ferries during this period are otherwise eliminated. Based on the above, we at DSV Road have decided to reduce the COVID 19 supplement in the areas we still have additional costs, as well as take the supplement completely away, where there are no more rational ones. The following applies from 1 July 2020: Domestic Thermo International Import Import Export 4% 0% 6% (Germany, Benelux, France, Spain, Portugal, UK, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Balkan) 0% (The North excl. Finland 6%), Baltic, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia) 0% In conc lusion, we want to assure you that DSV’s Executive Crisis Committee continues to monitor the situation closely. Our own emergency group in Norway will ensure that our customers and organizations receive the necessary information, and that necessary measures are implemented as needed. We would like to emphasize that as it now appears, we are able to maintain and ensure as normal operation as possible. The situation in Norway and globally is changing daily, and necessary changes will be made at short notice. We would also like to encourage our customers to have a close dialogue with their suppliers and recipients in order to secure the possibilities for pickup and delivery of goods. If any questions, please contact our local DSV-representative and/or see our latest updates at https://www.no.dsv.com/. DSV – Global Transport and Logistics
