9. If liquids are packaged, it is necessary for the goods inside the package to be packaged in containers from which the product cannot leak. Packaging of a shipment should be made so that containers are fixed so as to avoid movement and individual layers are laid so as to be supporting and to prevent movement of containers or tipping or collapsing. During transport, for operational reasons a shipment may be positioned on its side so even marking with arrows in order to indicate a horizontal position cannot substitute correct packaging of the contents in accordance with these principles for packaging. 10. The shipments positioned on the transport means or inside such means (pallets, supports, frames, structures, boxes, stands, etc.) must be fixed sufficiently to these means in order to avoid collapsing, shifting or tipping of the shipment contents as a result of usual transport circumstances. Fixing with PE, PP or FE tapes, stretch film, PE thermal shrink film, etc., are well-proven methods. The transport means must comply with the applicable standards by their design and condition so as to ensure safe handling. In order to achieve satisfactory packaging, we recommend consulting a company from the field of shipment packaging, which we can recommend upon request. 11. The contents of shipments should not to extend beyond the edges of the transport means so the shipment is not damaged when handling other shipments on the truck or to avoid damaging other shipments caused by a protruding part of the shipment. 12. The contents of shipments which are susceptible to tearing, abrasion, leakage, etc., and which could be spoiled in this way must be protected with sufficient transport packaging which shall prevent or at least reduce the risk of damage during standard transport and handling. Thin bags in bulk shipments, loose materials in sacks which are not protected with a rigid upper sheet or packaging cardboard are completely unsuitable. 13. Shipments loaded on transport means or inside such means must be positioned for transport using a collection system for individual packages so that the centre of gravity is always in the lower half and in the centre of the shipment. Shipments with the centre of gravity positioned differently must be identified by the sender so that it is apparent at first sight that the shipment requires special handling. In such a case, the sender must position a brief unambiguous text in Czech describing the correct handling method on the shipment next to the label (sign). 14. The DSV individual package collection system allows the transport of shipments the transport packaging of which complies with these parameters for each individual package. The condition from point no. 2 should also be complied with: 3
